| Selecting your Backing Film
Backing films are specifically designed to apply to the backside of a printed image and are not optically clear, but colored to obtain some level of opacity or opaqueness. This is very important to keep the frame or hardware from being seen when lighting sources are brighter behind the display.
Specialized backing films are generally thicker than over-laminates as they are designed to not retain "curl set." This problem is frequently associated with Pop-up Displays, which are stored rolled up for extended periods of time.
Backing films are designed as a single layer or composite (multi layered) film construction. Seal offers backing films with both, heat activated or pressure-sensitive adhesive systems to ensure the highest bond strength with no tunneling.
